Its’s Celebration time. A first post surely deserves something sweet so I decided upon this ‘Velvet Chocolate Cake’ . This, soft melt in the mouth cake will surely leave you craving for some more... . Plain tastes heavenly but a generous topping of chocolate sauce truly creates magic…..
Velvet Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1 cup pwd sugar
½ cup cocoa pwd.
1 tsp baking pwd
½ tsp baking soda
A pinch of salt
1 egg
¼ cup oil (any refined oil)
½ cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
½ tsp coffee pwd mixed with ½ cup boiling water
Method
Sift all the dry ingredients together and keep them in a bowl separately.
Grease the baking tin with a little refined oil & dust over
some cocoa powder.(as it's a chocolate cake)
Beat egg and sugar with an electric mixer and add oil and milk gradually.
Put the mixer on slow and start adding the dry ingredients spoon by spoon.
In the end gradually add coffee mixture and mix into a smooth paste.
The mixture will be very liquidy so don’t worry.
Pour the cake batter into a medium size tin.
Bake at 180 o C for approx. one hour or till a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
